BOURKE STREET
Project Type
NSW Department of Education
Client
Bourke Street Public School
The School had a strand of trees along a rear boundary line. An energised P&C president partnered with the Principal and ULP to unlock the potential of the space.
The new play space carefully weaves its way through the existing trees and uses their form as strong vertical elements that divide the elongated space into a number of smaller spaces that provide different play experiences.
The SRC took part in an enthusiastic Junior Design workshop and clearly outlined their joint vision for the new play space. This input allowed our design team to develop a well considered solution that captured the needs of the students and included a specific range of activities that were missing from the School.
