The play space at North Ryde Public School was in need of additional challenge and activity. ULP introduced a series of natural intuitive areas for the development of balance, cooperation and imagination.
The new play space was named “Imagination Island’ by the Students and the vast array of intuitive play elements takes on many forms. Well structured open ended and passive play zones create an unlimited amount of imaginative play potential.
Open spaces for boisterous play are well catered for and a series of gross motor challenges create an interconnected circuit throughout the play space.
“I thought of the name Imagination Island because I think that it is very important that everyone gets to use their imagination and this playground is the perfect place to do that.
Because of the power of imagination, this playground can be not just one thing but a thousand different things. It could be a pirate island… an unexplored island …a fairy island …a paradise island …a desert island …a floating iceberg, or even an aircraft carrier!
And I think your imagination can think of many more things. Thank you for giving me the chance to express my opinion about what the new playground should be called! I hope this new playground will help you to grow your imagination and have fun with your friends.
Thank you!”
