Blacktown Childcare

Children and educators reading together on the tiered timber amphitheatre seating at Blacktown

This Sydney warehouse conversion transformed a flat concrete slab into a varied play space. It uses level changes, textural variations, materials and plant selection to introduce natural tones and features to the former industrial space.

The play space contains rainforest gardens, a water play trellis, stepped water play zone with hand water pump, a trike path, active play zones and allfresco dining areas all contained within the relatively confined footprint.
