Large cluster decks

The cluster decks at a scale that takes a whole class. Wider platforms step around an existing tree so students can spread out across several levels at once, with the upper deck working as seating for the group below and shade coming from the canopy above.

S-OUTDOOR001

A sheltered timber deck with a trellis canopy and a curve of sandstone seat blocks, giving a class somewhere to gather, present and perform. It suits reading circles, group teaching, assemblies, music and drama, and it holds its purpose between lessons as a shaded place for students to sit together.

S-OUTDOOR003

The Yarning Circle is a peaceful, nature-inspired outdoor learning environment designed to foster deep reflection, rich storytelling, and collaborative discussion. Anchored by natural stone seating arranged in a classic circular formation, the space provides an open, equitable setting where every participant sits on the same level, naturally encouraging respectful dialogue, active listening, and shared experiences.

Grounded by artistic vertical timber elements that lend a sense of place and quiet reverence, the circle offers a dedicated sanctuary within the landscape for group instruction and quiet connection. The thoughtful, open layout seamlessly connects students to country and community, creating a welcoming, garden-like space where oral traditions, outdoor lessons, and social bonds naturally thrive.

The habitat patch

Bring biodiversity into the heart of your school with a living habitat designed for discovery. Layered native planting, a bird bath, nesting box, bug hotel and learning signage create food, water and shelter for local birds and insects, while giving students a hands-on place to observe seasonal change, explore ecosystems and develop a lasting connection with the natural world.

Cluster decks

Stepped timber platforms set around an existing tree, turning shade the school already has into a place to teach. The decks sit at different levels so a class can gather on one, work in small groups across the others, and use the raised platform as a seat, a table or a spot for the teacher to read from.
